IT subsidiary of a French banking group
The subsidiary designs and runs the group's information systems. It is building an in-house capability on digital assets to serve requests from the group's business lines.
On-demand blockchain experts for internal working groups
Context. The group brings its business lines together in working groups to assess how blockchain affects their activities, stablecoin payments in particular.
Work done. Two experts step in on demand, one on functional questions, the other on compliance. They answer the participants' questions and check the feasibility of the proposed processes against market practice.
The work covers in particular:
- documenting use cases: cross-border payments outside the euro area, corporate cash management, a tokenised money market fund, purchase of digital assets by clients;
- comparing stablecoin-related options;
- analysing the risks of each option: market, reputation, compliance, technology, finance;
- scoping elements for a proof of concept.
Hyperledger Besu training, operations and development
Context. The group takes part in a market-wide experiment on a Hyperledger Besu network and must be able to run its own node.
Work done. Three days of training for the project team: private Besu network with Docker, QBFT consensus, monitoring and troubleshooting, smart contract development with Foundry, application integration in Node.js, Java and .NET.
Smart contract engineer in technical assistance
Context. The subsidiary is building a digital asset platform to carry its business lines' use cases.
Work done. An engineer specialised in Solidity, tokenised real-world assets and on-chain compliance works inside the team: smart contract design and development, code review, tokenisation standards, testing and continuous integration, nodes and test environments, knowledge transfer.
Blockchain security training on Hyperledger Besu
Context. The subsidiary is preparing the tooling its business lines will use for blockchain projects.
Content. Consensus security and finality, smart contract flaws, bridges and interoperability, then a CTF-style day in a controlled environment. A fundamentals day is planned for participants who did not attend the first course.
